In a candid conversation with EE, Rahul Kathuria, Marketing Manager, PVR Limited reveals what makes PVR’s Director’s Cut an interesting venue for events and how the events fraternity can benefit from it.


PVR, one of the largest and the premium film entertainment company has redefined how people enjoy movies in India since the company’s inception in 1997. The distribution brand which currently serves over 70 million patrons at PAN India level is also widely known to add extravagance to the movie going experience for filmy buffs through one of its extension called the PVR’s Directors Cut.

The PVR’s Director’s Cut is the luxury arm of PVR Cinemas that blends the best in house high-end hospitality and entertainment and creates an experiential mix that is every movie goer’s delight. Interestingly, in the recent years the PVR Director’s Cut has also established itself as one of the finest luxury entertainment venue of the capital city as it hosts not just film festivals and film screening but events, press conferences, launches and meetings of all genres.

“The PVR Director’s Cut in the capital attracts city’s HNIs, Political Leaders, Country Ambassadors, Movie Makers, Film and Television celebs and other eminent personalities from various industries on a regular basis. We have 4 auditoriums where the movies are played and for events we also organize film festivals, launches and conferences there, as the auditoriums are a perfect mix of a luxurious hospitality and high end technical facilities they are ideal for hosting events as well”- shares Rahul Kathuria, Marketing Manager, PVR Ltd on being asked what makes PVR Director’s Cut an ideal venue for events.

He further adds, “Within the Director’s Cut premises, we also have a restaurant – “Mistral”, which is a casual all-day dining restaurant known for Italian and European delicacies. This restaurant can not only be used as a standalone venue to host events but also as an extension to the events being hosted in the auditoriums. An event planner can have a conference or a launch event at one of the halls and then have the wine and dine organized for their guests at the ‘Mistral’ which is known for its Interesting menu.”

Set against a cool modern decor and served in a laid back atmosphere, food at Mistral is bedecked with authentic flavors of Italy and Europe and the venue can host entertainment quotient for the event as well.

“We keep having experiential events and we customize the decor in accordance to the event here. Birthday Parties, Corporate Lunches and outings are a regular here. Mistral as an individual venue has the seating capacity of 138 people which makes it a perfect fit for corporate events whereas the auditoriums have more seating capacity and can be used for different events such as gaming championships, black tie dinners and formal events as well. In fact which recently hosted a star studded fashion show at one of the auditoriums and the organizers as well as the attendees were tremendously happy with the response.”- says Kathuria, when asked about the kind of events being hosted at the venue.
