On this note two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha Motor India, concluded its phase two of Kid’s carnival that was held at close to 100 Yamaha dealers across the country to celebrate Independence Day.
Being an exciting consumer connection initiative, kids along with their parents were seen in great numbers at the Yamaha showrooms. Various crowd engaging activities were organized along with providing a first-hand opportunity to experience Yamaha’s products like the Alpha scooter in particular.
Yamaha’s adorable mascot ‘Zippy’ was present to amuse the kids through exhilarating games, competitions and other exciting activities. The main activity within the entire event was the painting competition showcasing ‘India in the 21st century’ as well as Quiz based on the national theme.
The initiative created a buzz among the kids and guests who were present at the venue. It was a great attempt by an automaker to think out of the box and initiate a crowd engaging activity.
Delhi Metro celebrates the Independence Day in full zeal through week long celebrations involving a series of activities. Quiz competitions are being conducted on the theme of Metro as well as India’s independence for the commuters at selected Metro stations. Supporting the theme of patriotism, DMRC will also launch an awareness campaign about the importance of using public transport for a cleaner and greener tomorrow.
Differently-abled children and senior citizens from various NGOs will be taken on conducted Metro tours during the entire week to celebrate the occasion. Cultural programs and painting competitions will be organized for the families of DMRC employees.

In order to strengthen rehabilitation efforts in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand, another remarkable effort was made by Star India who hosted a seven hour marathon event on the occasion of Independence Day. The event witnessed film industry’s renowned actors and actresses such as Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay Devgan, AR Rahman, Mukesh Bhatt, Anil Kapoor etc. The sponsorship revenue and donations raised through the event were channeled to the relief work in the state.
Being one of the first such efforts by the entertainment industry to lessen the sufferings of people who were deeply affected in the Uttarakhand floods, Star India attempted a great move.
Looking back in time, Sony conducted an activity called 'Life of India' on the Independence Day. It launched a national youth engagement activity wherein photography enthusiasts from 24 schools across India, used Sony Alpha cameras to capture snapshots on the theme of ‘Life of India’ and uploaded on Sony’s Facebook page.
The pictures that received maximum likes along with the internal jury’s decision from the 24 schools each were awarded Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.
Targeting youngsters, it became a well-recognized and interesting activity amongst the photographers of the country.

Aspiring to achieve violence free environment for India’s women and girl’s, a campaign called ‘Beti Zindabad’ was launched by ActionAid India on the eve of Independence Day. ActionAid brought the issue of gender equality in thousands of Gram Sabhas across 15 states. Considering the fact that sex selection is flourishing in rural areas, various thought provoking issues were put forth in broad daylight related to female rights.
Raising the issue in open, on the Independence Day proved as a right decision for the organization. The nation thus gears up for the celebration of the 68th Independence Day, providing opportunities for brands to engage people and showcase their talent in the experiential space.
