Nokia opts for Virtual Launch of its 5G phone amid COVID-19 lockdown

The HMD Global event will begin at 4.30pm GMT (10pm IST), and the event will be live streamed on the YouTube channel.

After the coronavirus scare gripped markets globally, HMD Global has confirmed that the company's first 5G Nokia phone will be launched at the event. The company is expected to unveil the Nokia 8.2 5G, the entry level Nokia 1.3, and Nokia 5.3 phones at the event. 

According to reports, the company has sent out a new invite with the details and the live stream link for the online-only event. The HMD Global event will begin at 4.30pm GMT (10pm IST) on Thursday, March 19. You can watch the event live on YouTube. Alternatively, the live stream can also be seen in the embedded video below.

While the events industry is facing a massive crisis after the cancellation and postponement of events, this launch by Nokia might set a new trend among event planners. Or should we say the Virtual Events are here to stay now?
