Meltwater’s ‘Outside Insight’ event highlights the art, science and strategies of brand engagement

Global media intelligence firm Meltwater hosted its successful global marketing series ‘Outside Insight’ in India for the first time on August 11th to discuss the art, science and strategy of brand engagement in today’s hyper connected world.


The event was for senior marketing and PR professionals and had speakers including Prateek Chatterjee, Sr. Vice President, Corporate Communications & Marketing at NIIT; Nitin Raj, Vice President, Digital Initiatives at HCL Infosystems; Sourav Das, General Manager, Corporate Affairs & Communications at Cairn India Limited and Chiragh Cherian, Director of Online and Below the Line Initiatives from Perfect Relations. The speakers shared their insights on building successful and influential marketing strategies that impact brand engagement and brand reputation management by increasing customer loyalty and new business

The event was held at the JW Marriott in Aerocity, New Delhi
and offered valuable takeaways on how brands leverage data, social channels and
influencers to navigate the volatile landscape for all marketing and
communication professionals to work within. Prateek Chatterjee, Sr. VP of
Corporate Communications & Marketing at NIIT shared interesting insights on
PR crisis management as one of the seven imperatives to maintaining brand
reputation. He advised that companies should be addressing an issue directly if
it re-appears a few times rather than continuing to apologize for it. Projit
Chakrabarti, Head of Marketing Services at NDTV was thoroughly applauded as he
presented his DIY Integrated Marketing Primer, indeed a valuable topic of
discussion. Other themes centered on gaining brand visibility in a digital
world that tied in together with an engaging panel discussing the paradigm
shift for brand engagement in a digital world. The relevance and focus on
social media was the highlight, the need to humanize the brand and connecting
with people at an emotional level was emphasized by Nitin Raj, VP Digital
Initiatives from HCL Infosystems. The final session of the day was an engaging
panel discussion moderated by Bhaskar Bose, Managing Director at Meltwater and
included diverse perspectives from B2B, government and B2C.
