Dubai has unveiled a five-year multiple-entry visa, aiming to strengthen travel connections between India and Dubai while emphasizing its dedication to nurturing enduring economic partnerships and promoting tourism and business relationships. The visa, granted within two to five working days of service request acceptance, permits a 90-day stay, extendable once for a similar period, not exceeding a total of 180 days in a year. This initiative provides tourists with the flexibility of multiple entries and exits, catering to both business engagements and leisure travel, fostering seamless connectivity.

Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, expressed Dubai's appreciation for its enduring ties with India. The remarkable inbound visitation from the Indian market in 2023 significantly contributed to a record-breaking performance in Dubai's tourism sector. Acknowledging India's pivotal role as a key market, Habib emphasised its integral contribution to achieving the goals of the D33 Agenda, further solidifying Dubai's status as a hub for business, investment, and tourism.

The introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa reflects a strategic move to deepen existing ties. This milestone not only promises extended and enriching experiences for Indian tourists but also establishes a platform for heightened economic collaboration. Habib underlines that it underscores Dubai's commitment to India, emphasising the vast possibilities between the UAE and the sub-continent. With excellent flight connectivity and ongoing initiatives, Dubai aims to amplify awareness about its diverse offerings, multicultural ambiance, and abundance of hotels and attractions, reinforcing its position as the preferred travel destination for Indian tourists.

Following a remarkable 34 per cent year-on-year growth, Dubai recorded an unprecedented influx of 2.46 million overnight visitors from India in 2023, as per the latest data from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). This surge represents a substantial increase from the 1.84 million tourists hosted in the UAE in 2022. India, with its exceptional growth, maintains its position as the leading source of international visitors, contributing significantly to Dubai's record-breaking tourism performance last year.

This surge aligns seamlessly with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at solidifying Dubai's status as a premier global destination for both business and leisure.

In 2023, Dubai achieved a historic milestone by hosting a record-breaking 17.15 million international overnight visitors, marking a substantial 19.4 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the 14.36 million arrivals in 2022. This remarkable figure not only surpassed the previous record of 16.73 million visitors in 2019 but also showcased the continued allure of Dubai as a premier global destination.
