Cowe kicks off season 2 of Rasoi Queen in Ludhiana to engage housewives
The Confederation Of Women Entrepreneurs – India (COWE) organized culinary based event “Rasoi Queen-Season-2” in Ludhiana, Punjab on 26th April 2017. The concept of Rasoi Queen is dedicated to all those homemakers who enjoy cooking and dream about working as a MasterChef. From here the event will travel to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other parts of Punjab.


Rasoi Queen- a journey for ‘My Wife Is the Best Cook’ Or ‘Mummy Da Dhaba’ to evolving as a woman entrepreneur using her culinary skills is all about making it to Rasoi Queen. Till now it was limited to her friends and family but now showcasing it to the world and flying high with her pans and spoons. This platform is devised to encourage the hidden entrepreneurship talent and the hesitant cook in the homemakers to get featured and get monetary as well as non-monetary benefits through this. And let’s be honest – more than a few of us have pretended our kitchen was a studio and we were the latest on Master Chef. Rasoi Queen gives you the real feel of studio cooking. Trust us if you, as a cook out-shine, our Rasoi Queen contest, we achieve the motto of our very existence.
The event comprised various levels which started with the Opening ceremony where the organizers, Ms. Tripti Shinghal Somani - Chairperson, COWE India-Delhi; Ms. Ruchi Maheshwari – Chairperson, COWE India-Uttar Pradesh honored Ms. Namarta Singhania - President of Laxmi Ladies Club and motivated and introduced all the Chefs. After this, a small session was conducted by NSIC to create awareness about the government schemes and benefits.
The event saw more than 100 participants and about 400 audiences. The enthusiastic participants demonstrated their skills in-front of the judges.In the first round, the participants had displayed the dishes precooked by them at their home. From this round,15 semi-finalists where shortlisted .The second round was a blindfold round where the selected semifinalist had to identify the spices based on taste and aroma.After this round,11 participants were eliminated and the top 4 winners: Simran Atwal, Nandini Jairath, Tina Matta, Savita Bhattacharya from this round moved to the next round of Rasoi Queen Contest to be held in New Delhi. The competition was judged by various eminent chefs and celebrities including Chef Nita Mehta, Chef Munish Pandit, Chef Gautam Chaudhry, Chef Jatin khurana, Chef Neelu Kaura and Chef Happy Singh.
While the competition was on, live cooking sessions of 15 mins by chef Happy Singh was conducted. Proceeding from this, a small session was delivered by Ms. Nidhi Sharma - Across the Road, about the digital marketing of business. This session was succeeded by Chef Nita Mehta’s interesting and helpful session to all the participants.
To conclude this event Ms. Kavita Agarwal – Secretary, COWE India – Delhi,declared the results and delivered vote of thanks.The winners were acknowledged with certificates from COWE and were given gift vouchers from Meena Bazar ,Spices from Neeta Mehta & sarees from Triveni .
Final winner will bag a gift hamper of Rs. 50,000 along with a trip to Bangkok, the 1st Runners-up will take home a gift hamper of Rs. 25,000 and 2nd runners-up will grab a gift hamper of Rs. 15,000.
