After hitting a milestone of 100,000 sellers and a reprint, Twinkle Khanna's 'Salaam, Noni Appa' from her book 'The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad' is now a stage play.
Directed by Lillette Dubey who plays the lead, 'Salaam, Noni Appa' is a take over ageism. Salaam, Noni Appa is an unusual tale of a woman who finds love once again in the later years of life.
"It is both exhilarating and nerve racking at the same time. Seeing these characters that have lived within my head for over two decades truly come alive. Lillette and I had never met before this but she called me after reading the book and said she wanted to adapt Salaam Noni Appa into a play and things fell into place shortly", says Twinkle Khanna.
Seen at the opening show to support Twinkle Khanna were friends and family - Akshay Kumar, Dimple Kapadia, son Aarav Bhatia, Anupam Kher, Hrithik Roshan, Suzanne Khan, Gayatri and Vikas Oberoi, Anaita and Homi Adajania, R. Balki and more.
