In an interview with EE, Shashank Gupta, Founder and Director,Tailor Made spoke about Tailor Made's journey in India, how they are different from other wedding planners, role of technology in weddings and more.

Excerpts:

What inspired you to set up Tailor Made?

We think of ourselves as dreamers of a creative kind & we strive to create awe inspiring experiences. The fact that with Social Events you have the leverage of dreaming even bigger gave us the push towards venturing into this exciting space.Clients are now searching for Experiential Agencies who can intelligently ‘Curate Experiences’ (and not old-school wedding & party decorators and planners).

How do you differentiate Tailor Made from other wedding planners?

We pride ourselves as people who are not passive - we become an active part of the family and proactively suggest ideas, ways to ease the pressure in the journey to the D Day. Our thought process and the fact that we are ready to go the extra mile to create uniqueness in designing each and every experience fit for the celebration. We stay in touch with the trends to make sure that each experience is unique and engaging. We ensure our teams know the best in class partners across the board and enable our clients to make informed decisions riding on our experience and global reach.

You reiterate the role of technology in Tailor Made weddings. Please explain how do you integrate technology at each stage of the wedding event.

Technology has given us the advantage of easing the pressures in the planning process of weddings. At the starting of the planning process, we have started getting Apps made for the wedding to streamline the RSVP & hospitality process, capture their meal / stay preferences. Couple Logos #Hashtags which goes along with GIFs & video invites (completely super seeding the cumbersome-traditional Physical Card invites). Apart from this, technology to create bigger and better experiences during the wedding functions whether it is through bigger projection mapping systems or GIF Photo Booths.

This app also becomes a parallel wedding social platform where pictures /videos can be shared with and by the guests during the wedding functions.

What are the key trends to look out for in the upcoming wedding season of 2019?

More use of technology

1.       Pastel Shades - Coral being announced as the Pantone shade of the year 2019

2.       Moving away from the Gold & Silver to more use of Copper / Rose Gold shades

3.       Minimalist / Rustic Theme to more use of earthy colour shades

Please share some of your future plans for Tailor Made.

To be able to intelligently curate larger than life experiences in the Social Event Space and to be perceived as Planners who become an extended part of the family than just people who are called to help out with Decor and entertainment'
We plan to try and create a method in the madness that comes with this industry.
