Sushant Singh Rajput Commits Suicide At His Bandra Residence In Mumbai

No suicide note has been recovered from Rajput's residence, as per the police. Further investigation is underway. Several Bollywood celebrities expressed their shock and grief over Rajput's demise.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Bandra residence by hanging himself in Mumbai on Sunday, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr Manoj Sharma confirmed.

However, no suicide note has been recovered from Rajput's residence, as per the police. Further investigation is underway. Several Bollywood celebrities expressed their shock and grief over Rajput's demise.

"Shocked beyond words !!!! #SushantSinghRajput no more .... deeply saddened!!," actor Riteish Deshmukh's tweet read.

Originally from Bihar, Rajput started off his career with television and gained popularity with Ekta Kapoor's TV serial 'Pavitra Rishta', while acting alongside actor Ankita Lokhande.

He made his debut with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che', and went on to act in several blockbuster hits such as 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story', 'PK' and 'Kedarnath'.

Rajput was last seen in 'Chhichhore' alongside Shraddha Kapoor. 

Sushant Singh Rajput, who was born on 21 January 1986 in Patna, Bihar, has committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai. The police Commissioner Dr Manoj Sharma and actor’s representatives have confirmed the news. The reports said, he has hanged himself and the police were alerted by domestic help. Sushant Singh house at Cater Road, Mumbai is being investigated by a team of Bandra Police and the details are awaited. However, no suicide note has been recovered from Rajput's residence, as per the police.

The 34 years old, Sushant Singh was an Indian film and television actor, dancer, television personality, an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. He made his career debut into the industry with television serials. The first show he was cast in was Star Plus’s romantic drama ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.’ He was also a part of ‘Pavitra Rishta’, and gave an award-winning performance. From this point, the actor stepped on a stair to reach to greatest highest in his career.

Actor’s first debut into the Bollywood was ‘Kai Po Che!’ A film by Abhishek Kapoor which was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. He also received a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for the same. He acclaimed popularity from ‘MS Dhoni- The Untold Story’, in which he played the role of former Indian Cricket team captain. The movie was amongst the most successful one in the year 2016. 

Several well-known personalities turned on to twitter and expressed their shock and grief over the demise of about the actor’s death.
