Select Citywalk hosts 5th edition of ‘Cause 4 the paws’

Select Citywalk, a shopping centre in Delhi NCR, in association with ‘People For Animals’ organized the fifth season of ‘Cause 4 the Paws’, and helped find homes for homeless dogs who were abandoned by their families.

The event was held on the 2nd and 3rd  September, 2017 between 4 pm and 8 pm at the Plaza Area in Select Citywalk.

Commenting on the occasion, Mrs. Maneka Gandhi said, “Select Citywalk is the only mall which has been organizing such wonderful and unique event to find a home for the homeless dogs. Last year, around 424 dogs found a home through this platform. I am really thankful that Select Citywalk does this event year after year.”

“Committed and working towards the cause of animal welfare, Select Citywalk has always been an advocate of special love and care for the deprived and homeless pooches. The fifth season of ‘Cause 4 The Paws’ was a tremendous success. We are delighted to partner People for Animals for this very noble venture. They have been our partners since the inception of this event. We have a puppy shelter here where hundreds of dogs get adopted every year. This particular event is even more special because here all the dogs get adopted. Through this event, we hope that almost 50-60 dogs will get adopted and have a family. We are glad that we helped the cause of animal welfare and fulfilled our responsibility towards providing homes to the abandoned dogs”, added Arjun Sharma, Director, Select Citywalk.

Through this adoption drive, Select Citywalk brought the dog lovers an opportunity to find loyal and affectionate pets. Smt. Maneka Gandhi, Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development and an active animal rights activist graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on both the days.

Aimed at finding loving homes for the homeless pets, the platform featured twenty-two Dogs from ‘Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre’ and ‘Fauna Police’. These twenty-two dogs were a mix of popular breeds such as German Shepherds, Black Labradors, Pugs, Beagle, Rottweiler, Doberman Pincher, Spitz and the most lovable Desi Indians.
