Second Edition of The Radio Festival (TRF) To Be Held on 13th Feb. in New Delhi
The Radio Festival was launched in 2018, to Celebrate Sound by breaking the silos and bringing together all the three tiers of broadcasting, namely Public, Private and Community, as well as pod casters and others in the audio space on one platform.
Conceived and Founded by Archana Kapoor with support from a core team of community media experts, The Radio Festival (TRF)was launched in 2018, to Celebrate Sound by breaking the silos and bringing together all the three tiers of broadcasting, namely Public, Private and Community, as well as pod casters and others in the audio space on one platform. The Radio Festival, so far, has dovetailed with UNESCO’s World Radio Day that is celebrated on February 13 every year.
The Radio Festival centers around the various formats that are used to promote audio. Radio is a great leveler as it cuts across calls, caste, communities and is still a free for all space and can be accessed by anyone , anywhere and by anybody and the festival captures this spirit of this free for all medim.
The presentaer and RJs are highly popular and skilled, with the ability to hold an audience and build a brand for themselves with a huge folooowing. Despite the clutter of audio platforms, radio remains a trusted friend and can only come second to the phone.
Session I Leaving no one behind: The idea is inclusion by reaching out and projecting the marginalized voices
Session II Creating Waves in a Crowded Space: Conversations with Industry Leaders: This session will dwell on the diverse offerings -Innovations in content, packaging, making cross media connections and engaging with social issues to touch a chord with listeners and staying solvent
Session III Expanding Choices-Competing Voices: Podcasting, Audio plug-ins or social media and digital space are offering interesting takeaways for listeners across demographies and geographies. Are they complementing or competing with broadcasting. Is there a convergence?
Session IV Story TellingWhy do we tell our stories? What are the elements of a good story? The session will showcase some of the finest stories and their tellers in the spoken word space.
The TRF will also have an equally vibrant space outdoors with Exhibitions and stalls on history of Broadcasting, project a model radio station, live artists and a Hot Spot- with changing activity every half hour, where innovative ideas and products that improve knowledge and practice of broadcasting will be showcased.
