Red Bull returns with its second edition of 'Wings for Life World Run'
Red Bull's ‘Wings for Life World Run’ is all to return with its second edition on May 3, 2015. ‘Wings for Life World Run’ is a unique run taking place, simultaneously, across 6 continents, and 33 countries. In India, the race will kick off at 4:30 pm local time, from Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgaon, and is being organized under the Aegis of Government of Haryana and the Haryana Olympics Association.
The Wings for Life World Run has no static finish line but a Catcher Car that takes off 30 minutes after the start of the race and eliminates people as it crosses them. Also, there is no set distance. Every participant sets his/her own goal. The last man/woman to be caught by the Catcher Car is the global winner. Moreover, 100 per cent of the funds gathered from the race will go towards the Wings for Life – a foundation that funds research into finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
The 2015 edition of the Wings for Life World Run will be on May 3, 11 am UTC with new tracks in most countries. Running in the Wings for Life World Run will be professional athletes, passionate amateurs, medal-winning Olympians, charity ambassadors, and everyone who chooses to participate. Expected to last for six hours, this is a race for runners of all levels. Sports supernovas like Daniel Ricciardo, David Coulthard, are few of the event ambassadors who have decided to run for those who cannot!
Tens of thousands of runners and wheelchair users, fanatics and first-timers, will come together in this global phenomenon with its global goal. Registrations for the run are now open.
Wings for Life World Run took place in India for the 1st time, earlier this year on 4th May, 2014 at Sonipat, Haryana.
