Puma gives football fans the Thierry Henry experience

Sportswear brand Puma welcomed the Football legend and World- Cup winner Thierry Henry in Mumbai yesterday. By bringing down Arsenal 'Invincible' Thierry Henry to India for the first time, Puma aimed to provide a statuesque experience to all the football lovers.

Before coming to Mumbai, Thierry Henry was in Kolkata for a short visit where he was joined by Indian football icon Robin Singh in a candid conversation about football and he also interacted with his fans.

Arsenal’s record goal scorer, Thierry Henry’s visit to Mumbai was monumental for his die-hard fans in the country who had been waiting enthusiastically for his arrival and to a get a glimpse of him.

In Mumbai, Thierry Henry trained some grass-root level players from Arsenal Soccer School and Reliance Foundation Young Champs. Henry gave a few football lessons and shared some tips with these young aspiring footballers, post which he hand- picked a few of them for a thrilling match against the ‘All Stars’ team.

This training session was then followed by a 5-A-Side football match against Team Faster which consisted of ISL players like Dhanachandra Singh, Shankar Sampingiraj, cricketer Aditya Tare and some Bollywood celebrities like Harshvardhan Kapoor, Dino Morea. This exciting match was held at the Dome at NSCI SVP Stadium in Worli.

A number of Thierry Henry fans witnessed this adrenaline-charged encounter between the two teams which was definitely a unique experience for football fans in India. The fans were later given an opportunity to interact with the legend himself for a quick round of questions. Most of Thierry Henry’s fans present at the event have loved him for his heroics for the time he was in Arsenal and cheered on as Henry spoke about his love for football and about his time in Arsenal.

“India has amazing football talent at the grass-root level that needs to be nurtured and given a chance to grow! We’ve always heard about the growing interest for football in India and it has been a really fascinating experience for me to witness it live now! I am proud to be associated with PUMA and I would like to thank all my fans for showing up in huge numbers and for the love and support I have received from them in India!”, highlighted Henry during the post-match interaction with the fans.
