People want to move out to experience on-ground events: Digant Sharma
Revenge season is on as we all know, and the response for Horn Ok Please has been phenomenal, says Sharma.
Paytm insider after two years of the pandemic, hosted Delhi's most anticipated and talked-about food festival, "Horn-ok please."
The event this year not only included mouth-watering delicacies, but also unforgettable experiences rich in music, art, and culture. The event was attended by a boisterous audience of people of all ages and features more than 150 specially chosen F&B establishments from Delhi NCR's most fascinating restaurants. While some dined, others were observed swaying to the music of an independent Sufi/Folk Rock band. We got the opportunity to talk to the Founder of Horn-Ok Please, Digant Sharma, here are some excerpts from the interview:
How did you come up with the idea of 'Horn OK Please'?
There was an emerging food truck scene in Gurgaon & Noida back in 2017, but Delhi only saw old-school Chinese food vans scattered across the city. Horn OK Please actually started off as a platform to introduce Delhiites to the modern-day food trucks without having the need to travel all the way across the border. We got more than 50 food trucks from across NCR and parked them in South Delhi for our first edition of the Horn-ok please festival.
Why did you opt for food festival?
Because food binds people like nothing else. Despite its name, the food feast offers much more. A massive festival that offers more than just mouth-watering food but features a flea market where you can shop 'til you drop, a live stage with a tonne of local musicians, gorgeous photo spots strewn throughout the space, a beer garden, and a cool cocktail bar. The event isn't just about cuisine; it's a classic fusion of pop culture, art, and music, offering everything from tarot card reading to face painting, temporary tattoos, and trendy decorating goods.
What do you think of the public's response to the return of "Horn OK Please" after the pandemic's first two years?
Revenge season is on as we all know, and the response for Horn Ok Please has been phenomenal. People are moving out like never before, and we provide unique experiences to our consumers each time. It won't be any different this time. After two years, we have a tonne of new things planned to offer the public, and we'll do our absolute best.
What is the scope of food festivals in the upcoming future?
Safe to say, after being locked up for almost 2 years, people will want to move out to experience on-ground events. A food festival is a great platform to try out dishes from various eateries under one roof. We're surely going to see a lot more food festivals coming up across the country in the years to come. Additionally, he requested that to keep an eye out this winter as there would be many unexpected festivals for Delhiites.
