The Dhyanotsav – a ‘festival’ or ‘celebration’ of meditation, was a three day long event, held on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of September, on the lush green lawns of Government P.G College, Noida Sector 39. The event was organized in public interest, by the volunteers of the Heartfulness Institute – a global non-profit organization, in order to make the benefits of Heartfulness Meditation, Relaxation and Rejuvenation techniques, accessible to audiences all over the city.

The event was graced by eminent personalities such as Dr. Somnath Shastri ( Ex-Union Minister, Agriculture ), Dr. Mahesh Sharma (Member of parliament, Gautam Buddha Nagar), Dr. Sandeep Budhiraja ( Group Medical Director, Max Healthcare ), Anil Kumar Srivastav ( Principal Advisor Niti Aayog ), Anurag Batra (Chairman and Editor in Chief, BW Business World) and Professor Bhagwati Prasad Sharma (Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddha University. CM Yogi Adityanath, also extended his congratulations to the organizers, for bringing the benefits of Meditation for general welfare.

The Dhyanotsav is a flagship event of the Heartfulness Institute, being celebrated with audiences globally. From the urban metropolis at New Jersey at NJPAC, to the Indian cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore – the event is touching lives across distinct geographies and cultures. The event has successfully attended by more than a 1,50,000 people, and has been held successfully in Karimnagar, Khammam, Rajahmundry, Surat, Iict-Hyderbad, Calicut and the like. The Heartfulness Insititute will ensure that Dhyanotsavs are held in all twenty nine states, and seven union territories in the country. Equal attention is payed to reach the rural masses as well – where special ‘Gram Dhyanotsav’s’ are taking place, at the Block level, in India.

The event is deliberately designed as a three day event, so as to introduce comprehensively, the three techniques of Heartfulness, that compliment one another. Day 1, is used to introduce simple and effective relaxation and heart-based meditation – usually done in the morning – to aid focus. Day 2, focuses on rejuvenation or mental detoxification for mental clarity, to be practiced in the evening. Day 3, seeks to introduce the technique of prayerful connection; usually done before bedtime, enhancing one’s ability to sleep better at night.

Along side these three techniques, the Dhyanotsav also features exercises in Yoga – usually ‘chair-yoga’ that is light and effortless on the body, yet, still physically beneficial; and ‘Brighter Minds’ – a disruptive educational initiative that enhances cognitive abilities in children, so much so that, children are able to read, sense colors, and solve puzzling rubrik cubes, all with their eyes under a blindfold, by tapping into their intuitive capacities, on entering a relaxed and calm state of mind. Audiences are usually left mesmerized by such educational technologies. But the message of these demonstrations is larger, than making mere impressions; we can reach our highest potential, by entering a state of calm and peace – a state, that meditation helps create.

Commenting on the Dhyanotsav initiative, the Heartfulness Global Guide, Dr. Kamlesh D. Patel, also lovingly known as Daaji, said, 'Our natural state of being is blissful and in touch with our inner nature. Meditation transforms us to that state where the mind can combat the challenges of day-to-day life effectively. Decisions that help shape an efficient life become a habit. An individual's experience of oneself and the world is elevated. Through Dhyanotsav, we are offering the benefits of Heartfulness meditation to millions across the world.'

Several prominent spokespersons have appreciated the efforts going into the event. Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman and Managing Director of Arvind Limited said, “The striking aspect of Dhyanotsav is that it aims to touch the lives of people across the country and not just in cities. It is a good opportunity for everyone to take advantage of the events that are being hosted close to their location and experience the benefit of meditation.”

Mr Ashwin Sanghi, best-selling author in the thriller genre said, “Having experienced Heartfulness recently, I can say that the positive impact this form of meditation has is tremendous. Dhyanotsav is a very innovative campaign to reach out to millions of people in the country to benefit from this form of meditation.”

Mr Ronald Ross, Collector of Mahbubnagar said, “The Dhyanotsav initiative has seen a tremendous response in the Telangana regions. I have received feedback that the 3-day sessions have helped the participants to understand how meditation can help them in their daily lives. I am sure that this can have a very positive impact on society.”
