New Delhi Palate Fest 2014 hits it right outside the park!


With a vibrant showcase of different restaurants, chefs and gourmet pop-ups, the Palate Fest 2014allowed enthusiasts to taste and experience new flavours and new cuisines all in the lap of nature. The exclusive 3 day gastronomic fanfare culminated on30thNovember 2014 at Nehru Park in association with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The festival made for a great day out with food markets, cookery workshop, tasting and dinners. Tons of culinary experiences werecoupled with live performances by bands like Menwhopause, Astitva, Bandish, Shark etc, events, promotions and celebrations like the city had never seen before. The fest began at 11am till 10pm at night.

“The festival isn’t just about eating – it’s about the entire experience while strolling the grounds of Nehru Park. One can smell the amazing aromas, enjoy live entertainment, watch live cooking and walk through an array of products at the food market.We are also glad to have collaborated with NDMC markingtheir centenary year celebrations.” Said, AditiKapoor, Founder& Director, Palate Fest Pvt. “O.P. Mishra, director, NDMC, also graced the occasion and was happy to offer almost 20 percent of the park.”

"We get many travellers from US, Bangladesh, Canada and Britain. But it seems like most of them are transit passengers and have some kind of tie up with Taj hotels. So when they come, they just touch Taj and go back. We have to break that and make them stay longer," says Mishra.

Food enthusiasts sampled Delhi’s vibrant food and drink culture and met & greeted celebrity chefs like Noah, KunalKapoor, Manish Mehrotra, Paritosh, Kurt Nyren Michael, Christian Vautier, Felipe Moreno, Ramon Salto, Jatin, Alexis and Vikram etc.

“Each year we will showcase a few countries through its embassy in India highlighting the food, drinks, entertainment etc. and so far the French, Spanish and Mexican embassy have shown their interest for the event. We wish to serve every foodie’s fantasy to get up close and personal with a number of food luminaries and it will also be a great platform for interaction, understanding, business generation and exchange of ideas for the participants.” Said, RuchiSibal, Founder & Director, Palate Fest Pvt. Palate Fest Pvt. Ltd. is a new establishment formed to bring together epicurean delights under one roof.  A brainchild of RuchiSibal and AditiKapoor, Palate Fest provides a common platform for interaction, understanding, business generation and exchange of ideas for all the associated culinary brands.  First of its kind in India, Palate Fest wishes to break even in its first year of inception with ‘New Delhi Palate Fest 2014’ in association with NDMC.
