NCPA’S Bandish Festival partners with Sound.com
Sound.com will be officially partnering the Bandish Festival for the first time, producing the artists performing at the event for all three days. The festival venue is National Center of Performing Arts (NCPA) and its slated to take place from July 18 to 20, 2014.
The Bandish Festival takes place annually since 2010, every July at the NCPA and has seen illustrious artists such as Rashid Khan, Shubha Mudgal, Anup Jalota, Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, Talat Aziz, Malini Rajurkar, Kaushiki Chakraborty, among others present compositions by eminent poets. The three-day festival showcases some of the most treasured works of great composers, presented by eminent artistes from North and South India.
Sound.com, on the other hand is known for its front-of-house engineering and audio systems with regard to mixing concerts. Some of the best music productions include AR Rahman’s concerts, Sunburn Festival, Bacardi Nh7 Weekender, Carlos Santana in Noida, Foreigner’s India tour, to name a few.
But the Bandish Festival, in itself poses to be an interesting project considering that the team will be producing Indian Classical Music for a sonically educated audience, having done so earlier for the Elephanta Festival too.
Warren D’souza, Managing Director, Sound.com elucidates, “The team at Sound.com is very excited with this association and I am looking forward to the event. It will be a very different experience for everyone.”
Sound.com has produced NCPA’s Symphony Orchestra of India (SoI) for its outdoor tours and concerts out of Mumbai. The association, with NCPA, is hence not new.
