Music festival 'Ragasthan' returns to blow up a storm in Thar desert with third edition
Marking its return with the third edition Ragasthan, a music, culture and art festival, will renergise the dunes of the Thar desert in Jaisalmer from 23rd - 25th of February 2018.

The festival is based around an understanding of shared values, cultures and an ethos that really matters. At Ragasthan, the outdoors, respect for creation and its magic remains the focus. It is why camping is such an important part of the festival, where people come out and live like a community for the three days and breathe life into the desert - the wilderness that is the great Thar.
It's beautiful to see so much in the inhospitable terrains of this venue - where you can dance on the softest grains of sand, snuggle in blankets and watch movies, appreciate art - visual and aural, and all this and more under a sky full of stars, with friends, strangers, lovers and more importantly, yourself.
Promoting new and emerging talent is the essence of this music festival, which is why it may not bring you the biggest names but will always bring new, untapped and unheard sounds to the fore in the pursuit of scouting talented local Indian and International music talent.
Convoys of bikes, buses and cars leave from across the country only to see the magic unfold amidst towering sand dunes, 50kms from Jaisalmer town.
Supriya Sobti, co-founder, Ragasthan expressed, "When we travelled to other countries, we realised we had to build our own community of people that thrive on sub-cultures; photographers, dancers, visual artists, activists, painters, musicians, fire dancers, star gazers, offroaders, bikers, writers, body mapping artists, campers, videographers and film-makers for whom this place is a delight, bankers and accountants tired of crunching numbers and so many other change makers who make for the Ragasthan community."
Ragasthan aims to make this an event where environmental sustainability, freedom of expression, preservation of cultural art forms and heritage, activism for everything today's youth firmly stands for, global music and the spirit of oneness takes centre stage. Okay, we're sold. Blocking our calendars early for this one!
