Millennial Odisha’s Faces Celebrates Contribution of Odia Community

The event was organised recently to felicitate the top Central Government bureaucrats, corporate heads, banking heads and social entrepreneurs of the Odia community.

The Millennial Odisha’s Faces, a first of its kind event was organised recently to felicitate the top Central Government bureaucrats, corporate heads, banking heads and social entrepreneurs of the Odia community to acknowledge their contribution in their respective fields. 

The event was hosted by Eastern Book Company, the oldest legal publishing house in India. They are also the publisher of Supreme Court Cases. The other co-host was Bridge Mediation and Consulting, which is a Policy, training and strategic consulting think tank based out of Delhi with onsite representative offices at Rome and Barcelona. Among various persons felicitated at the event, few individuals present in person included the likes of Pranab Kumar Das, Chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), G. C. Murmu, Special Secretary (Revenue) G.O.I, Dr. Santrupt Misra, Global Director (HR) and CEO of Carbon Black- Aditya Birla Group and  Ramakant Panda, a social entrepreneur etc.

The event saw the presence of Hon’ble Justice Dipak Misra, former Chief Justice of India as the Chief Guest for the function. The other guests of honour who graced the event were Hon’ble Justice M. M. Kumar, President, National Company Law Tribunal, Dr. Aruna Sharma, ex-secretary, Ministry of Steel and presently the member of the RBI Committee on Deepening of Digital Payments, and Dr. Anurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief Businessworld.

The event witnessed two panel discussions moderated by Tarun Nangia, editor (special projects) at NewsX. Both the panel discussions have been televised and will be telecasted on two shows on NewsX, Legally Speaking and Policy & Politics respectively.

The first panel titled “Law, Myths and Dharma” was the first ever television interview by Hon’ble Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India. Other panellists included Kritika Krishnamurthy, Partner at AK and Partners (law firm) and author of Bestselling book ‘The Art of Negotiation & Mediation’, Anand Neelakantan, Author of ‘Asura series, Ajaya series and Bahubali series a book based on the Bahubali movie series. The panel co-related stories from Indian and world mythology with present day laws and legal principles. The panel discussion will be telecasted on NewsX in two parts 

The next panel discussion on “Backward States taking India Forward” discussed how states which were previously categorised as economically backward are now the propellers of India’s growth story. Some of these states include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and North East of India. The panellists for this panel discussion were Uday Mahurkar, author of the famous policy commentary Marching with a Billion, Dr. Aruna Sharma ex-secretary, Ministry of Steel and presently the member of the RBI formed Committee on Deepening of Digital Payments and Sumeet Malik, Director, Supreme Court Cases.
