Macao's Taipa Village launches innovative dining and retail concepts to promote tourism
Multiple fresh retail concepts and a new car-parking facility boost the position of Taipa Village as a key non-gaming destination in Macao.
Taipa Village has continued its development as one of Macao’s major non-gaming destinations with innovative new dining and retail concepts opening throughout the village in recent months. These exciting new venues are complemented by the long-awaited opening of a new 400-space car park, which will significantly improve access to Taipa Village.
The new concepts include King’s Lobster restaurant, Restuarante Portugues Pescador, DiGreen, Lord Stow’s Bakery and O Santos Loja Portuguesa.
“We are delighted to welcome these colourful and vibrant establishments, which will further position Taipa Village as Macao’s most sought after lifestyle destination,” says Pamela Chan, Senior Marketing Manager at Taipa Village Destination Limited.
“Tourists and locals alike are being increasingly drawn to the rapidly regenerating Taipa Village, made readily more accessible by the new carpark, improved casino access and ultimately a light rail station due to open in 2019.”
Further openings are anticipated throughout this year, including the entry of number of major international retail brands.
Taipa Village is located in the oldest and best preserved part of Taipa. Formerly home to local fishermen, Taipa Village, with its traditional shophouses and quaint cobbled streets, offers an antidote to the glitz of the neighbouring Cotai Strip. Richly endowed with a mix of Portuguese and Chinese architecture, and with unmistakable Mediterranean touches, Taipa Village is a culturally diverse landmark destination that offers visitors a taste of the original, authentic Macao. Taipa Village, as a new brand concept established by Taipa Village Destination Limited, provides tourists and locals alike with a genuine, relaxed experience through myriad heritage attractions, innovative dining establishments, unique shopping experiences and diverse arts and entertainment offerings. Authentically Macao, Taipa Village combines a rich cultural heritage with historic beauty, harking back to an idyllic blend of East and West.
