King Letsie III Attends Lesotho’s Expo 2020 Dubai National Day celebration
Earlier, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed has praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leadership for delivering a meaningful World Expo.
King Letsie III, on Wednesday, visited Expo 2020 Dubai as his country celebrated its Expo 2020 National Day with a cultural fusion of music, dance, and poetry, a flag-raising ceremony and speeches.
Letsie III and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso were welcomed by Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai.
According to the official statement, Lesotho’s delegation included ministers of Trade and Industry; Foreign Affairs and International Relations; Small Business Development, Cooperatives and Marketing; and Tourism, Environment and Culture.
Earlier, United Nations (UN) Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, has praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leadership for delivering a meaningful World Expo, despite challenges caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Mohammed described the Expo 2020 Dubai as a solid building block towards implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the road to Agenda 2030.
Visiting Expo 2020 Dubai as part of the United Nations Honour Day on Sunday, Mohammed was welcomed by Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai, and Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Commissioner General Office, Expo 2020 Dubai.
