On 22nd March 2020 over 70 countries participated in the Global prayer which was organized under the Grace and guidance of Maitreya Dadashreeji where over 1 Million people across the globe united on television, Facebook and YouTube to pray for the eradication of the COVID-19 virus.

The experience was overwhelming and humbling as we sat in prayer at 6.30 pm knowing that we had a million people joining us at the same time from across borders, religions and beliefs. It was then that I experience the power of prayer.

Over the past decade, I have been actively seeking spiritual learnings and teachings with the intent to align my mind, body and spirit. My seeking has led me to many masters, teachers across the world, each of who contributed to my personal and spiritual growth.

It is three years ago that I connected with the teachings of Dadashreeji and the learning has been profoundly experiential. As I aligned myself to being part of the outreach team for the Global prayer, the experience of planning this initiative left me, a seasoned event manager awestruck and amazed.

This mammoth initiative was planned with such ease and grace. Everyone we reached out to were motivated and stepped into action. Needless to say, the experiential and media industry offered unconditional support.

Immense support was extended by Saif Ali Khan, Sohail Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Suneil Shetty, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Boman Irani, Kailash Kher, Terrence Lewis, Asit Kumarr, Arshad Warsi, Pooja Bedi, Smita Jayakar, Rakshanda Khan, Harmeet of Meet Bros, RJ Malishka, Krishna Bharadwaj, Poonam Bhagat, were among the many who came out in support of the initiative.

And when D-day came, we rejoiced in the possibility of touching lives with positivity, grace and hope. Yet, all the planning had not prepared any of us for the experience we were about to have.

At 6.30 pm, I sat with my family and we prayed, guided by a serene voice on the online platform. It was then that I experienced great gratitude, love for mother earth and an affirming connection with the entire world. It is then that the realization that “We are one indeed” opened me up to the world of peace and serenity.

As soon as the prayer of was over, I eagerly reached out to friends & peers in an attempt to capture their experience.

When I reached out to Vipin Aneja, playback singer and performer, he shared “It was indeed the most emotional experience as I connected with my Sadguru & the divine light which gave me a sense of confidence & belief that this virus will be eradicated & mother earth will forgive the human race”.

Vanndana Vaadera, Anchor, Singer, Trainer and a part of the out reach team was elated and shared “For me the experience was surreal as I could visualize the world and all living beings healed and the world opened up as one, in an enlighteniing vision.”

Mala Makan of Hyatt Regency said ““It was absolutely amazing to be a part of this prayer where I connected with my inner self and the entire world going through what we are all at this stage. It was an emotional experience to pray, not only for myself, but for the entire world and I am sure that my prayers will be heard” .

When I connected with Reema Sanghvi, Director, Maximus Events, she said “ I experienced profound peace and a felt divine vibration. I was spellbound with this incredible, unexpected and surreal journey within which united me with the entire universe.”

My business partner in Global Wedding Academy and Director of Var Vadhu, Neha Seth Arora enthusiastically shared “Although we were all scattered across the globe, we were bound together by one prayer, and this was experienced in the process. I felt a deep connection, immense peace and a calm that transcended space and time”.

In closing, I must say that this event has been the most gratifying one that I have worked on in the 27 years of my career. It is heartening to be a part of this global movement that the Maitri Family has initiated by bringing the world together to pray for causes of social concern.

Imagine, anything is possible when the world prays together irrespective of region, religion, caste, creed or belief. This prayer provided an opportunity to pray for others, for humanity… toward one cause as One World, One Family.
