Indian Digital Media Awards 2014 concludes in Mumbai

In a glittering ceremony held in the ballroom of the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai, exchange4media planned and executed the Indian Digital Media Awards 2014, one of the most prestigious digital award ceremonies in the country. Among the big winners of the night were Interactive Avenues, Grey Digital, PHD India, Red Fuse and Maxus. Mr. Amarjeet Singh Batra, CEO – OLX India was honoured with the IDMA Person of the Year award. A complete list of winners from the night can be found here.

The ceremony kicked off with special guest, Arvind Gupta, Head - BJP IT Cell, the man who helmed the social media duties for BJP in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, discussing his party’s successful social media campaign, ‘When we started working on the campaign, we had to evangelise the word digital within the party and even today, I must confess, there are only a few people within the party who understand what this media comprises of. So they called us wizkids and trusted us with the task of evangelizing on the medium. However, it took us over 4 years to make it happen. We had to start with the little things and build step by step.



‘Eventually the 2012 elections in Gujarat were our big test bet and the 2013 Delhi state elections changed the complexion of the game. Over the last six months, we were executing the campaign that we had conceptualized, and we’re glad it’s now such a famous campaign.’



The awards were given across six categories and 40 sub-categories. Winners were chosen across various domains of digital media such as Internet, mobile, gaming, social media and the blogosphere.



The night concluded with the who’s who of the marketing fraternity mingling with the relatively fresh faces of digital marketing, discussing and ideas and insights for a digital age.
