ICCR hosts Indian classical music concert 'Sarod's Trail' in Kolkata sponsored by Titan

To promote Indian classical music 'Sarod's Trail' was launched by Dutta Roy Enterprise of Kolkata in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Ministry of External Affairs. The Concert was hosted at Rabindranath Tagore Center ICCR Kolkata on 3rd Feb 2017.


The artists who rendered their performance were Pt Biswajit Roychowdhury on Sarod, one of the leading exponents to have performed around the globe and received various accolades from several countries including knighthood. He was accompanied by Pt Biplab Bhattacharyya on Tabla who has performed throughout the world including Kennedy Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall and International Arts Festival in South Africa besides other events in Paris and Barcelona.

The duration of the Concert was 80 minutes. The ragas which were played were Shree Raga, Jayatshree & concluded with Kafi.

Senior diplomats from US, China, Japan, Germany, UK, Russia, Italy , France and other countries attended the concert. There was audience from all walks of life from India and abroad who present at the Concert. The compilation of a music album of the concert is currently being planned.

A Dutta Roy Enterprise had earlier launched "Tagore & Violin" by Dr Mysore Manjunath on Violin of Violin Brothers at the RTC Center ICCR & "Krishna's Journey" by grammy nominee Pt Ronu Majumder on Flute and Pt Subhankar Banerjee also at the ICCR. They are now planning to launch "Guitar & Sitar" along with an evening of Ghazal in its pursuit to promote classical Indian music extensively.

The Concert was sponsored by Titan being the principal sponsor, besides Century Ply, Shrachi Group, Atha Group & J W Marriott.
