Experiential retail done right: The Hab by Usha

Usha, the brand behind marketing India's first indigenous sewing machine in 1939, celebrated Women's Day in its experiential store- The Hab by Usha. A short form for Haberdashery, The Hab is a one stop shop for all possible sewing needs. This experiential store, located on the buzzing Linking Road in Mumbai, invites its audience to take a fresh, youthful and contemporary perspective to the art of sewing and accessory making by offering a plethora of new experiences, encouraging learning and creativity through workshops, demos and store exhibits, for all age groups.





The store hosted an evening for select ladies on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2014 at their store at Linking Road Khar West. Providing women a chance to express their creative talent, The Hab provided each lady with a scarf which they could customize as per their design sensibility.





Each woman could create designs using different decorative stitches and embroidery patterns of the Usha Janome automatic sewing machines and colorful beads, sequins, embellishments and much more under the guidance of trained sewing experts. These sewing experts shared design tips and helped women transform their inspiration into a style statement at the sewing workstations.







Design, craft and fashion come together to create a revolutionary concept of a signature experiential store; The Hab by Usha is a space that inspires people to create, innovate and experience the art of sewing.
