Well it’s December! With New Year approaching in just a few days more lets wave goodbye to 2014 in a festive spirit. Having said,the last month of the year has a lot to offer. Despite chilly winds and dipping temperature, December is the king of dance and music festivals across all genres. So come out and tap you feet to the thrilling music and events happening around the country. So that you never miss on events that every month has to offer here EE consolidates a list of cross- genre events that we think are worth attending in the month of December.



Sunburn Goa:Just before the New Year Celebrations, Goa – with its dynamic party culture – hosts the biggest electronic dance music festival in the country. The Sunburn Festival takes place at Vagator and features massive international artists and Indian DJs. It is rightly said that Sunburn Goa is not just a festival but a destination for music lovers and dance enthusiasts head off to cement their memories. In its 8th year of providing unique dance music experiences, 2014 will mark new beginnings as the stage in Goa is set for the biggest line-up of over 150 artists.



The three-day party presents different genres of music, which range from house to drum 'n' bass.This year from 27-30th December, the festival will feature Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Knife Party, Sander van Doorn, Sasha, Krewella, Baauer, Danny Avila, Head Hunterz, DenizKoyu, Dubvision, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Matthew Koma, MAKJ, New World Sound, Michael Woods & many more in the Phase 1 international line-up. Trampolines and dancers create a stunning blend of theatre and dance music, while exceptional lasers and a gigantic flying sphere gives enough reasons to all party animals.



VH1 supersonic:Another popular music festival that has its roots in Goa is VH1 Supersonic. Building on last year’s vibes, this year’s event will see world famous artists like Paul Van Dyk, Dash Berlin, Above & Beyond, Infected Mushrooms, Roger Sanchez, Carl Craig, The Chainsmokers, Stanton Warriors,Dillon Francis, Bl3nd, Funkagenga, Hook N Sling, Mark Knight, Mat Zo and many more turning up the level of excitement and energy on the sultry sands of Candolim beach in Goa on 27, 28, 29 and 30 December, 2014.



Apart from the world renowned legends on board, Vh1 Supersonic also elevates established Indian artists like Ash Roy, Tuhin Mehta, VachanChinnappa, and many others, making it a balanced blend of international and home-grown talent.



 International Odissi dance festival:The International Odissi Dance Festival takes place each year to gather dancers from across the world and showcase the developments in the Odissi dance form to people. Hundreds of dancers and musicians perform at the festival.  This includes veteran, established, senior and talented Odissi dancers. It is held from December 26-30 every year at RabindraMandap, Bhubaneshwar, Orissa.



The main objective of this festival is to bring together the legendary, established, senior and talented Odissi dancers. The last edition welcomed approximately 398 dancers and 300 musicians from across the globe who showcased their talent at the festival.



Chennai music festival: Between December 15 and January 15, it is that time of the year, when music is in the air in Chennai. The Chennai music festival remains to be a much awaited music festival in this city of South India drawing connoisseurs of Carnatic music and dance from all over the world.  Being an 85 year old property, the Chennai music festival needs to reinvent itself keeping with the demands of new generations while keeping intact its traditional form and essence at the same time.



This Madras Music Season takes place at music halls all over Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It invites audiences and artists from across India and from the international Indian diaspora to be part of the event. Welcoming a grand number of artists and performers, this music season is described as the world's largest cultural events.



Enchanted valley carnival: This festival will be held over 3 days on the 19-20-21stDecember this year. EVC 13’ featured some of the best local & international acts, covering an array of genres on each of its 3 super stages. Putting together performances from Martin Garrix, ATB, Jeremy Olander, Ankytrixx, Taio Cruz & Raghu Dixit in its first edition, one can expect a similar melting pot to choose from this year. Billed as an "Adventure in Music", the Enchanted Valley Carnival hosts over 60 DJs (including some of the biggest names in electronic music from India and internationally) and other artists across its stages. There is also camping and adventure sports arranged for the adventure of the audience. This festival will take place in the Festival Arena, Aamby Valley City of Maharashtra. The place is a 2 hour drive from Mumbai.



Delhi street food festival: Yes it is not another music festival but a great event that happens in December and is a treat to all foodies. Organized by‘The National Association of Street Vendors’, this grand Street Food Festival will take place in Delhi from 25 to 28 December at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Gate 14, BhismaPitamah Road, PragatiVihar, Lodi Colony. A great delight to all street food lovers, this food festival promotes professionalizing and branding street foods in its own master style
