Champions Group introduces experiential travel in Goa

?

Summers have arrived and eager vacationers are packing their bags and heading to Goa, one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the country. Bangalore-based Champions Group, with an aim to make the experience of Goa a memorable one for their customers has incorporated an ‘experiential luxury travel’ initiative.

The concept of experiential travel is picking up worldwide in tourism. The company ventured into the Goa market about five months ago to target the untapped tourism potential in the state.

Edson Martins, Business Development Head, Champions Group shares his thoughts about their experiential travel initiative, ‘The prime reason we function at Goa is because of the demand it gets from tourism. Apart from this are the ever changing demands of travelers which Goa can truly cater to as a tourism destination. We aim to create this travel experience for our customers hassle-free. We want our patrons to take back sweet memories from their experience here and this is where the concept has now become a fruitful initiation which is expected to grow further in days to come.’

‘Goa is synonymous with sun, sand and beer. Tourists come here to roam the beaches and unwind, but after only two days they don’t have much to do here. We want our customers to experience something new when they visit Goa and have designed this unique travel offering scenario keeping in mind both the global and the Indian traveler’s needs’, shares Mr. Prajwal Viswanath, Marketing and PR manager, Champions Group.

The company has targeted its premium customers with a Catamaran facility in South Goa. ‘The catamaran ship anchored at Cavelossim village has been attracting corporate and high end clients. It is a sort of floating hotel for our high end customers’, adds Viswanath.

The Yacht Club of Champions Group is more about the adventure experience in Goa and has introduced water based activities for their customers like scuba diving, snorkeling, angling, para sailing and gliding and even deep sea fishing by incorporating strategic tie-ups with respective agencies.

The company has however not forgotten about its lower and mid segment consumers. ‘We are not here just to cater to luxury travelers and we respect our patrons no matter how big or small their budgets are and this is where we came up with the flagship Champions Travel Club,’ says Viswanath.

The company is doing their bit for the environment and has introduced eco-based battery operated hummer boats at Mayem Lake at Bicholim in Goa. ‘At Mayem we have supplied equipments like ‘Chikara’, eco-friendly battery operated boats and soon we will have a floating restaurant for the mid-segment customers,’ adds Viswanath.

The company has also introduced Pontoons, dolphin boats, Kashmiri shikara, zorbing balls and high speed cruises in Goan waters.

The travel based themes by the company in Goa are being much appreciated by travelers and they are coming back for more of such experiences. The experiential travel initiative has attracted celebrities and PR shoots as well.

‘We want to bring in more of these activities to engage our customers and we plan to introduce hovercrafts and sailboats to allow our customers to move on both sand and in sea,’ finishes off Viswanath.
