With the digital and social media world abuzz with Mother’s Day celebrations, brands are no strangers to the special bond people all over the world share with their mothers. EE brings to you the scoop on how various brands came forward this year to make Moms feel special and loved.



Godrej Interio’s #SelfieWithMom campaign



Godrej Interio has come up with the ultimate Mother’s day photo contest! Who can resist a mom and child selfie? In its quest to make every mother feel special and exceptional, the brand invited selfies with one’s mother on its Facebook and Twitter pages with hashtag #SelfieWithMom along with a personalized message. The campaign ran from 5th May to 9th May with the contest winners being declared on the 10th. Every selfie shared on the Godrej Interio’s social media platforms were uploaded on the brand’s fan page on Mother’s Day. Commenting on this campaign, Mr. Subodh Mehta, Senior AVP, Sales & Marketing, Godrej Interio said, “We at Godrej Interio always want our consumers to be treated with delightful surprises. This year, we decided to go digital and get everyone to participate online. We look forward to building this as a fun campaign and transform every mother’s life in the process. We are certain this will cement our bonds with our consumers.”



MetLife’s Mother’s Day #Moem campaign



Of all the joys in life, the big ones and the small. Spending time with my Mom, is the greatest of them all. For Mother’s Day, MetLife invited people to create tribute poems for their mom, called ‘Moems’ on the company’s Facebook and Twitter pages.  The company also created a Facebook application called the #Moem Maker to help users get their creative juices flowing to offer a tribute to their moms. For every #Moem posted, MetLife Foundation made a $10 donation, up to $50,000, to the Dress for Success Financial Literacy Program, which helps low-income women learn how to eliminate debt, manage assets and prepare for retirement. The brand went all out to make Mother’s Day special and poetic.



Dalda Edible Oil’s Dial D campaign



This Mother’s Day, Dial D to tell your mother how much she means to you! In appreciation of mums everywhere, Dalda Edible Oil gave all a chance to record a personalized message and thank their beloved mother for her lifelong dedication and commitment them. The campaign has been specifically created in Uttar Pradesh to encourage consumer involvement and participation in dedicating a heartfelt Mother’s Day message. As part of the campaign the participants were required to dial a toll free number on the brand’s Dial D platform and record a personal message for their mothers. Each participant received some gratification for recording messages. The campaign which began on May 8th ran until May 11th when all recorded messages were played to the respective mothers on Mother’s Day.



Mother’s Day weekend celebrations at Cadbury World



In another part of the world, Birmingham’s tourist attraction, Cadbury World, gave miniature boxes of Cadbury ‘Thank You’ chocolates to mums visiting them on the Mother’s Day weekend. Families were invited to bring a special Mother’s Day message and in exchange for the homemade cards or notes, Cadbury World treated each mum with chocolates, hence providing them an added tasty experience to their visit. The venue also provided a craft area for families to create personalized messages for their mothers.



Mothers Day at the Hab by Usha



The Hab by Usha invited customers to unleash their creativity and sew their heart out at their in-store activity. In order to celebrate Mother’s Day in their unique and affordable way, they carried out an initiative to help customers create unique gifts for their mom’s with the assistance of their sewing experts. The Hab by Usha, which is a sewing experiential store in India, provided gift ideas and materials to their customers ranging from cards to coasters, quilted kitchen gloves, hot pot holders and aprons to lunch bags and much more.
