With BookMyShow Jukebox, electronic dance music (EDM) lovers can now tune in to listen to Nikhil Chinapa playing his favorite tracks each weekend.

Juggling between the roles of the DJ, VJ, an MC, Festival Director and a Music Promoter, Nikhil Chinapa has recently added a feather to his cap by partnering with India’s one of the largest online entertainment ticketing platforms, BookMyShow, via his EDM company, Submerge.

To know more about the alliance, we spoke with Nikhil Chinapa himself and also the Associate Vice-President of Audio Entertainment at BookMyShow, Aditya Kuber. 

When asked Kuber about the reason behind commencing a platform such as this and looping in Chinapa to spearhead, he replied that BookMyShow being a 360 degree entertainment destination, foray into the music business came naturally to them and the rationale for choosing Chinapa was his influence on the young minds that they wanted to target.

Also, throwing light on BookMyShow’s expansion into audio entertainment space via Jukebox, Kuber said, “It is an extension of what our platform stands for, providing 360-degree entertainment to our consumers.”

Talking to the man of the hour, we asked Chinapa about the various approaches he would use to engage his fans through this show and he replied that, from informing about the background of the artists to answering questions on Instagram or Twitter handle, they would strive to provide music lovers with an experience like they would have never felt before.

Also, when asked him how this show would help him as a Festival Curator or the other work roles that he is known for, Chinapa answered that this show is an extension of what he does and it will bestow him with an opportunity to connect with his fans across. 

Extending our talk with Chinapa, we asked him about the festival, Supersonic 2018, and how differently he has planned to engage the music enthusiasts this year. To which he said, “We have a lineup that we have never had for the past ten years, which include artists ranging from Marshmello, Incubus, Major Lazer to alt-J, Dillon Francis and Joseph Capriati.” Other than this the festival would also be a big yes for the food and beverage lovers, he claimed.

Coming to an end of our little chat, Kuber emphasized on creating an identity of BookMyShow differently, by delivering people with a curated music experience via the show, ‘TGTR with Nikhil’.
