Amitabh Bachchan presents LG's latest smartphone
LG recently launched its latest handset in India, the G3. The launch event took place at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai on July 21. Cream Events, which has executed multiple events for LG, was at it again and this time approached Amitabh Bachchan to launch the smartphone.
Cream was responsible for end to end execution, right from conceptualizing and creating the interactive projections using Watchout technology to managing the crowd of 1000 guests, the F&B zone, experience zone, etc.
Speaking about the event, Pranil Thakkar, Assistant Manager - Operations, Cream Events, said: "For the launch of LG's newest phone, the brand wanted to do something that did justice to its newest piece of cutting edge technology. We thought: Why not launch this iconic mobile phone with India's most iconic personality - Mr. Amitabh Bachchan? The concept, ‘A Legend By A Legend', thus came alive."
Instead of making just an appearance, Cream engaged with Mr Bachchan to conduct a 20 minute detailed presentation for the media on the features of the phone. Commenting on the same, Thakkar said: "This has never been done before by any celebrity, let alone India's biggest personality."
Mr Bachchan also signed a number of the G3 phones which are being sold as limited editions. His photo shoot at the event was released as nationwide advertising content, the behind the scenes video can be viewed below. The event was globally streamed live on YouTube and Mr Bachchan also tweeted about the event to his 9.5 million followers (said to have the highest number of followers in India).
Commenting on the event, Thakkar said: "The event being of such a big stature, it was extremely necessary to pay attention to the minute details. The stage design was kept very clean to not let either the product or Mr. Bachchan get subdued. The large LED screen with six side LED panels provided for depth and character to the graphics and videos being played. The demo zone created with 60 handsets to give a first-hand experience to the media and guests was replicated to match international standards. It took us more than 48 hours and a team of over 100 members to erect the complete set."
