9th Jaipur International Film Festival to feature 17 workshops
Pink City of Jaipur to offer full filmy fun for five days beginning January 7 providing an opportunity to cinema buffs to watch 134 movies from all over the globe at JIFF 2017.
It would be an experience to savour with for local citizens, media persons, students and film makers who would be able to attend 17 Workshops and Seminars and Dialogues with film makers in Master Strokes before screening of their movies.
The Ninth Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) is all set to open at 5pm on January 7 atGolcha Cinema.
Workshops and Seminars on January 8
Directors and Writers meet will be held on the second day of the Festival at Golcha Cinema at 12 o’clock. Former chairman of the Noted South Indian film director who chaired the Oscar selection committee, Hariharan, and the director of acclaimed silent film PushpakSingitham Srinivasa Rao will also be attending the meet. The meet would be followed by meeting of artistes at 1.30PM in which twice national award winner super star actress from South Rachana and matinee idol from South Ashok Selvan would also interact with the audience. In the evening at 6.30 PM a documentary made on singer Mohammad RafiDaastan-e-Rafi would be screened followed by a discussion on the life of the legendry singer.
On the same day at 5PM Swiss film maker Thomas Luechinger will have interaction with the audience at Manipal University.
Workshops, Seminars and discussions on January 9
On the third day of the Festival Panasonic India will be organizing a Master Class on camera Varicam at 12 in the noon for film makers and film and media students who would be able to acquire knowledge about operating this movie camera. It would be a new experience for film makers from Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan.
After that a discussion on the award winning book Hindi Cinema Ka Safar will be held with its author Anil Bhargava at 2.45PM. It would be followed by talks on American and Romanian Cinema by Justin Konnor from America and Robert Popa from Romania at 4PM.
In the evening at 6.30 a documentary Kagaz Ki Kashti will be screened and its directorBrahmanand Singh will discuss about the life of legendary Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh on whose life the documentary has been made.
Workshops, seminars and discussions on January 10
JIFF has designed a new series of discussions Back to Roots. In first of this series a discussion session will be held at 1.30PM film maker Gajendra Shrotriya will talk to Rajasthani film actor Sagar.
Bollywood actress Arti Chhabaria (Shootout At Lokhandwala fame) will interact with the audience at 2.45PM in Debut Directors meet. In the evening at 8 PM actress Akriti Bisariawill be with the audience during screening of her film.
Dialogues and Open Session on January 11
A new Dialogue on Global Change - Global Experiment and World Cinema will be organized on the closing day at 1.30PM in an open session.
The Jaipur International Film Festival will be held from January 7 to 11. The two other venue will be The Manipal University, Jaipur and The Rajasthan Praudh Shikshan Samiti(Rajasthan Adult Education Association).
