3rd Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi to be held at Nesco Ground, Mumbai

Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi is back with its third edition to honor and celebrate the best in Marathi cinema. In a press conference at Sofitel, BKC, Mumbai, Jitesh Pillai, Editor, Filmfare along with Marathi actor Swapnil Joshi announced ​​ 27th October, 2017 as the date for the award ceremony. The same will be televised on Colors Marathi at a later date.


The press conference began with Jitesh Pillai and Swapnil Joshi lighting the lamp. The two together revealed the categories and expressed their gratitude towards Marathi film industry for giving us a plethora of talent. The award function will be held at Nesco Ground, Mumbai and will witness performances and acts by actors of the Marathi film fraternity.

Thrilled to announce the  third edition of Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017, Jitesh Pillai, Editor, Filmfare said, “After two successful editions of Filmfare Awards Marathi, we intend to raise the momentum with this year’s awards. Our association with Jio has come a long way and we are glad to have them on our journey of highlighting the commendable work done in Marathi cinema. We feel privileged to witness and celebrate the remarkable talent that exists in the Marathi film fraternity.”

Actor Swapnil Joshi who was present at the press conference commented, “Marathi cinema has proved to be the perfect blend of commerce and arts. Especially in the past three years, the Marathi cinema has strategically not only prospered in mainstream cinema but also experimental cinema. Filmfare, who has always been synonymous to cinema since it’s inception has always given Marathi cinema the acknowledgment it deserves.”
