1st Rishikesh Art and Film Festival to be held across 11 days and 5 venues

The first edition of the Rishikesh Art and Film Festival is being hosted for the first time ever spread across five venues spanning the famed Beatles Ashram, the sacred Shatrughan and TriveniGhat, the Ganga facing theatre of Ganga Resort and the White Sand Beach from March 3 – March 13th, 2017 in Rishikesh, renowned as a centre for yoga, spirituality and meditation.

The 1st Annual Rishikesh Art and Film Festival will be weaving local communities and international guests together in celebration of creativity in Rishikesh. This year’s theme focuses on the Sacred Life in India, which showcases pilgrimages, holy festivals, temple art, village life, yoga and meditation. It is designed to involve as well as to sensitize the local community to social issues through various art forms.

The festival will host the 11 day event with activities including art exhibits, film screenings, music performances, world peace meditation, healing workshops, yoga sessions, dance performances, and many more events by local as well as international artists. There will be a free Family Film for all to enjoy as a community in an outdoor arena.

The Festival announces its schedule bringing the best of artists from across the world showcasing their work in various genres of film, video, art and photography exhibitions, workshops, panels, experiential events in interactive storytelling, music, dance and street festivities, author and poets. The event gives the audience an opportunity to immerse themselves in relevant topics while celebrating the creativity and culture of the people of Rishikesh as well as bringing together people from various communities.
